President's Message
Christopher N. Latreille, P.E.

February 15th marked the end of our dinner program series for 2011-2012. We were fortunate to have Tony Johnson from the Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute (CRSI) as our speaker. His presentation on Concrete Solutions for Low Rise Structures proves that the concrete industry continues to push the envelope with efficient new ways to design and construct concrete buildings.

I hope you have enjoyed our educational programs this past year. We attempted to provide a good mix of topics to serve our diverse membership, and I think we were successful. The ACI CNY Board will be hard at work over the summer planning next year’s events to continue this trend with an emphasis on continuing education credit.

We will conclude our season with the Annual Design & Installation Awards Banquet on Wednesday, April 4th, at the DoubleTree Hotel in East Syracuse. As you know, the banquet will feature local projects and project teams that exhibit excellence in concrete and masonry design and installation. I would like to thank members of the Board and our volunteers, particularly Greg Novitzki and Nick Carparelli, for graciously donating their time in coordinating this event. I would also like to thank our judges, who have the tough job of ranking these outstanding projects. Our awards program has become the envy of other ACI chapters in large part to their efforts.

It has been a pleasure serving as Chapter President this past year, and I hope to see you all at the banquet!
