The use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) for project advancement and design is without question one of the most significant developments in the construction industry in the last ten years. The use of software such as Autodesk Revit by Engineers and Architects is well known and is fast becoming the norm. Contractors and suppliers are also taking advantage of BIM as a powerful tool for developing submittals, generating estimates, and determining sequencing and feasibility of various construction operations, such as erection and staging. This presentation will showcase some of the benefits of BIM during design and construction, particularly concrete and masonry construction.
