Dave obtained his Mechanical Engineering Degree at SUNY Buffalo. Dave’s 34 years of experience in construction includes research & development, physical testing & fire-testing of construction products, code approvals, product trials, and field project experience.
Dave’s career began at National Gypsum Corporation as a Research Engineer. He then took the position of Director of Technical Support for Martin Fireproofing Incorporated, a national manufacturer of specialty concrete roof planking & Fibroplank structural cement wood fiber planks (Portland cement and wood fiber matrix). Because of their uniqueness, these products required extensive promotional sales and product support, and development of test data to satisfy the design and specification community.
Dave then co-founded MetRepCo, a manufacturer’s representative firm promoting construction products throughout upstate NY. Dave successfully ran MetRepCo for nine years. In 2005, Dave sold MetRepCo and began to work with Propex Concrete Systems, first as a Territory Manager selling fiber reinforcement for concrete, & then as a national promotional manager for geotextiles and fiber reinforcement. With his extensive national construction product experience, Dave worked with and trained some of the largest specifying firms, government agencies, and contractors in the country.
At the start of 2013 Dave started FRC Orzel, LLC – specifically focusing on fiber reinforcement of concrete in his local market area. Dave has been involved with millions of square feet of concrete flatwork, shotcrete applications, and precast work in NY, PA, and OH, and has been responsible for tremendous growth in the use of macro-synthetic fiber and steel fiber for reinforcement of concrete.
